When Sonia Shah approached Kudos Interior Designs, she already had a clear vision of how she wanted her home to feel — open, bright, practical, and effortlessly stylish. Sonia didn’t want a kitchen island. Instead, she envisioned a large dining table as the heart of the space, ideal for hosting family gatherings and everyday moments.
Our design team worked closely with her to understand her lifestyle, cooking habits, storage needs, and aesthetic preferences. Every detail was assessed with precision, resulting in a stunning, fully tailored German kitchen solution.
A Beautiful Corner Pantry & Full-Height Larder Storage
One of Sonia’s top priorities was storage — and we delivered it in style.
The designer incorporated:

A Tailored German Kitchen Designed with Purpose
To achieve the calm, spacious look Sonia wanted, the designer proposed a satin light-colour handle-less kitchen, known for its clean lines, soft visual presence, and luxurious finish. The handle-less profile adds a modern, seamless aesthetic while making the room feel bigger and lighter.
The kitchen sits beneath a beautiful skylight, allowing natural light to flood the space, enhancing the soft tones and elegant textures. This combination created the perfect foundation for the look Sonia envisioned — serene, sophisticated, and welcoming.
Smart Integration of Existing Appliances
Sonia already had a free-standing washing machine and tumble dryer, and she was keen to keep them. Rather than leaving them exposed, we designed custom cabinet fronts to conceal them completely. This allowed us to maintain the sleek handle-less aesthetic across the entire kitchen without compromising functionality.
Every appliance was positioned carefully to maximise convenience and workflow, ensuring practicality never disrupted the beauty of the space.
A Design That Celebrates Light, Space & Comfort
Instead of a central island, the large dining table sits proudly in the centre of the room, creating a relaxed, social atmosphere. The satin cabinetry, stone-effect worktops, and modern appliances blend together effortlessly, giving Sonia a kitchen that’s both functional and stunning.

HOW DID YOU FIRST DISCOVER KUDOS INTERIOR DESIGNS?
I actually spotted their showroom while driving through Harrow, and that’s what first caught my attention. When I began my kitchen renovation journey, I also found Kudos on Google and kept hearing people locally mentioning them — so it felt like a sign to visit and see what they could offer.

The personalised approach from Ali, the designer, made all the difference. He took the time to understand exactly what I wanted and offered thoughtful solutions I hadn’t even considered. Out of all the showrooms I visited — both local independents and large national brands — Ali was easily the most knowledgeable designer. His expertise gave me complete confidence that Kudos was the right choice.
WHAT WAS YOUR DESIGN CONSULTATION EXPERIENCE LIKE?
It was incredibly reassuring and exciting. Ali listened carefully to my ideas, especially my preference for a large dining table instead of an island, and he created a layout that balanced space, light, and practicality perfectly. We explored colours, finishes, storage options, and how everything would work together. Seeing the design come to life on the screen was amazing — it helped me visualise the kitchen exactly as it is now.
WHAT MAIN CHALLENGE DID YOU WANT KUDOS TO SOLVE WITH YOUR NEW KITCHEN?
I needed a design that looked beautiful but also worked for the way my family lives day-to-day. Storage was essential, and I wanted to keep my free-standing washing machine and tumble dryer without them being on show. Kudos not only hid them behind cabinetry but also maximised storage with a corner pantry and tall larders. They solved every challenge better than I expected.
DID YOUR KITCHEN HAVE ANY AWKWARD SPACES THAT NEEDED CLEVER DESIGN?
Yes, particularly around the corner where I wanted a pantry and the area with the free-standing appliances. Kudos designed everything so neatly that you’d never realise those were previously difficult areas. The cabinetry now looks completely seamless.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR INSTALLATION EXPERIENCE?
The fitting was smooth and very professionally handled. The installers were polite, precise, and clearly very experienced. Every detail — from the alignment of the doors to the finish on the worktops — was completed with real care. Watching the kitchen come together was wonderful.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR PERSONAL INTERIOR STYLE, AND HOW DOES YOUR FINISHED KITCHEN REFLECT THAT?
I prefer calm, bright, and modern spaces with clean lines and a soft, elegant feel. The satin light-coloured handle-less kitchen matches that perfectly. Combined with the natural light from the skylight, it creates a very fresh and inviting atmosphere that feels exactly right for our home.
WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT YOUR NEW KUDOS KITCHEN?
I love how organised everything feels now. The hidden appliances, the tall larders, the corner pantry — it’s all so practical yet beautifully designed. The whole space feels tidy, open, and much easier to use.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE FEATURE IN THE NEW KITCHEN?
Definitely the larder fridge and larder freezer paired with the corner pantry. They’ve completely changed the way we store food and organise the kitchen. The handle-less design also gives such a luxurious, seamless look.
WHAT ARE YOU MOST EXCITED TO ORGANISE IN YOUR NEW KITCHEN?
The pantry! I’m really looking forward to arranging all my ingredients, snacks, and everyday essentials so everything is easy to see and reach. Having such a well-planned storage space makes cooking and hosting much more enjoyable.
